Thinking of Times Passed

Love is such,

A fickle bitch.

A message,

A picture.

I see you,

And I miss you.

I miss us,

And what we were.

But here we are,

In separate worlds.

Looking through,

Tinted glass.

Taking my Place

“You realize once you agree to this, your soul is mine.” The demon told me.

“And in the meantime, I’m going to be an amazing pianist. I can’t wait for the concerts.” I smiled.

“Fine. Have fun.” The demon said and pulled me in to kiss him. His hand snaked down and groped my ass. I was surprised but only kissed him harder. I was getting too into it and he disappeared. “Well thanks.” I got in my car and drove home. The next day I walked into chorus and as a joke, sat at the piano. Wondering if it had actually worked, I ran my fingers across the keys. Something clicked in my brain and I just went for it. It was beautiful. Everyone clapped when I was done. I had completely lost track of time.

Someone took a video and put it up on YouTube. I didn’t know it at the time, but someone contacted me saying they saw me on YouTube and was wondering if I could play with them. It was some kind of old orchestra. As time went on, I came out with a few CDs, and worked with a couple orchestra’s. I also loved playing in a pit for anyone. Musicals were fun, but challenging.

As I was moving from my parent’s home to my own house, I had decided to buy a piano. For some reason I wanted it on the second floor, so there was this whole big process. I don’t know what I was thinking. But I saw him again. The demon I made the deal with. I was distracted and, it fell. On me.

“I should’ve known.” I said.

“What? How could you have known the piano was going to fall?” The demon asked me. I smiled.

“You were there. Before it fell. I couldn’t keep my eyes off you.” I told him.

“Same here. I had to wait a little bit, but I couldn’t get you out of my mind. I hope you don’t mind dying.” The demon put his arm around me and pulled me in to kiss him like on that day a few years ago. As I looked into his eyes, they changed. The irises went from black to a deep red. His skin didn’t change, but a couple of horns grew. A crown of fire came to life above his head. Did I seriously fall in love with the King of Hell?

“Are you?”

“Lucifer? Satan? The Unclean one? Etcetera etcetera, yup.” He laughed.

“Okay then.” It took me a bit to comprehend that I was standing with Lucifer himself. I may be in love with Lucifer. Lucifer!

“You okay babe?” He winked at me and hugged me closer. I melted in his arms. I was his.

A Kiss with Death

“Ew, stop. You know I hate it when you do that.”

“Babe, it’s my job. What am I going to do? Take the night off? I don’t think so. Too much is at stake.” He wraps his arm around his waist as the man lies on the ground, overdosing on some useless mundane substance. “You’re the one that fell in love with me. What else did you think I would do?”

“I didn’t think you’d kill people in front of me.” Jasper pouts but puts his hand in Death’s that was on his side. They watch as the man releases his last breath and the soul comes out like a little wisp. Death grabs a jar from within his long coat and collects the little fluff-ball.

“I think you just hate watching the light fade, knowing that once that was you.” Death snickered.

“Too close.”

“But instead of a little puff-ball like this decrepit soul, you are you. It’s really rare honestly.”

“I think I just loved the thought of leaving it all behind, of seeing you again, that I grew as a soul and not a person. I still remember the face you made when I came out. You had a jar out and everything.”

“Let’s just say you were hard to catch.”

“Didn’t need a jar that’s for sure.”

“Nope, all I needed was this.” And Death pumped his hips out a couple of times.

“Oh stop it.” Jasper smacked him playfully. Even though no-one could see them, he still got embarrassed.

“What? I remember the first time we–” Death said with a wicked smile.

“Yeah, and it was the best I’ve ever had. Even before…” Jasper got a little glassy-eyed.

“Hey. HEY. That is over. Got it? You’ve got me now. I will never hurt you, not like they did.” Death grabbed Jasper around the waist and twisted him face to face. He looked Jasper in the eyes, and they brightened up a little.

“Thanks. I don’t like where I go when I do that.” Jasper put his head on Death’s shoulder.

“You sure you don’t want to go hunting? You may like who is coming up on the list.” Death said, rubbing his back.

“I don’t know if I could get over the sight of it even if it was them.” Jasper slight shook as he said it.

“It’ll be okay. They’ll get their turn soon. And I’m sure it’ll be just what they deserve.” Death continued to rub his back while Jasper let it out. “Shhh, everything is okay now.”

“Th-thanks. I’m really glad I met you.” Jasper moved and looked into Death’s eyes. “I never realized how terrifying your eyes are.”

“Why? Because they’re all black?”

“Nah, I just can see inside of you is all.” Jasper said and kissed Death.
